Proton Authenticator is an application for two-factor authentication (2FA).
2FA adds a second layer of login security to your accounts, in addition to your password. Even if hackers know your password, they can’t access your account without this second code. An authenticator application generates one-time codes right on your device – safer and quicker than having codes sent by e-mail or SMS.
Proton Authenticator is different than other authenticator applications. It has no ads, no trackers, and is open source, so you can verify its code.
With open-source code, end-to-end encryption, and no data collection, it’s a 2FA application you can actually trust.
Just download the application, scan your QR codes or import existing codes, and you’re set. You don’t need a Proton Account to use it.
